What’s New in IBP 2202

As you know, SAP introduced new Integrated Business Planning release i.e. Release 2202. In this blog you go through from some basic key changes in Release 2202.

Data Integration-

1. Integration content includes new Add-On extractors and CI-DS Templates for MRO & also for MRO Scenario, in new release introduced new Planning Area.
   • New extractors for S/4 HANA and ERP Supply Chain Add-On for IBP now support integration of MRO Master Data.
   • ECC/ S4HANA Enterprise Asset Management is the source for master data to IBP MRO.
   • Six new MRO extractors in addition to existing Time Series extractors support the master data extraction to IBP MRO.
   • These include extractors for Equipment, Functional Location, Maintenance Activity, Material Consumption
     for Maintenance, Material Vendor and Resource Consumption for Maintenance.





2. The new App Data Comparison and Reconciliation for RTI (real-time integration) is provided to identify and correct data inconsistencies between SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain (SAP IBP) and a connected external system (SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA).
   • Data inconsistencies can occur during the data transfer using RTI, data is lost during the transfer, or manually intervention in the transfer of the data between the systems.
   • In new App, Comparison of transactional data and stock between SAP IBP and the connected external systems (SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA) & reconciling of erroneous transactional data and stock.

Demand Topics-

1. Purge absolute forecast data.

   You can now set the system to delete existing forecast data for planning objects for which sales history is no longer available, provided that the ‘Disregard Leading Null’ option is selected for the forecast model you are using. This way you can prevent the overall results from being skewed by obsolete forecasts.

   You can also specify the value for what type of forecast data should be deleted in the Global Parameter ‘PURGE_FARECAST_RESULTS’:

   • Value 1 for delete the forecast and the results of impact analysis for the forecast.
   • 2 for delete the ex-post forecast and the results of variable impact analysis for the ex-post forecast.
   • 3 for delete both the ex-post forecast and the forecast, as well as the results of variable impact analysis.


2. Before the start of the phase in of a new product, it may be needed to produce a big amount of stock to satisfy future orders. To do this the “Shelf-Fill” is introduced: the planner can decide the amount of pieces that needs to be stocked and in how many weeks.
   
   
   

Excel Add-In-

With the SAP IBP, add-in for Microsoft Excel version 2202.2.0, provides further APIs to make basic functions of the Excel add-in accessible through Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)coding.

For example, you can use the APIs for the following:

• Creating navigation patterns between worksheets in a planning view template. For example, navigating from a main planning view worksheet to a more detailed planning view worksheet by double clicking a combination.
• Providing a planning view template where the planners can go through the combinations they are in charge of one by one, entering their changes and clicking the button Save and Next.
• Creating buttons for running simulations for specific planning operators.





• Assigning shortcut keys to simple macros to trigger SAP IBP actions, such as, for example, Simulate (Basic).





• Measuring the performance of running planning operators in simulation mode after an upgrade of your SAP IBP system.



• Triggering Save Data with prefilling reason codes and comments and optionally suppressing the dialog for reason codes, comments and sharing.
